Bond 2025
After years of discussion and community input, the St. John-Hudson USD 350 Board of Education has approved a school bond election for the November 4, 2025, ballot to address critical facility needs across the district.
Many areas of the district’s school building date back to 1938, 1953, and 1963, and have been in need of upgrades for decades. The Board has studied these needs over several years, and in late 2022, a facilities committee made up of community members was formed to identify priorities. After pausing work in 2023–2024, the committee reconvened in early 2025 and presented its recommendation to the Board at the May 2025 meeting.
In June, the Board directed the project team to narrow the scope and budget to focus on the district’s most urgent needs. Landmark Architects and Wiens & Company Construction adjusted the proposal accordingly, and in July, the Board approved placing a school bond question on the November general election ballot.
“This proposal represents an important investment in both our students and our community,” said Dr. Jana Hare, USD 350 Superintendent. “By addressing these needs now, we can preserve our buildings, provide safe and efficient spaces, and support the success of every child who walks through our doors.”
2025 Proposed Bond Highlights
Working with Landmark Architects and Wiens & Company Construction, the district has developed a plan that tackles the most pressing facility needs while preparing schools to serve the community for decades to come. The proposal includes:
- Stronger Safety: Secure entrances and a FEMA-rated storm shelter
- Improved Learning Spaces: Right-sized classrooms and updated cafeteria
- Reliable Infrastructure: Upgrades to heating, cooling, electrical, and plumbing systems
By addressing these needs now, the district can protect its investment in existing buildings, provide safer and more efficient schools, and create an environment where students and teachers can focus on learning.
Dates and details of informational events and facility tours will be announced soon.
