The USD 350 Board of Education has approved a two-year contract for Mr. Travis Callaway to perform the duties of principal for St. John Jr/Sr High School starting in the 2024-25 school year.
Mr. Callaway has been a physical education teacher, coach, and athletic director at Spearville for the past 6 years. He has 12 years of experience in education. Before moving to Spearville, he was a PE / business teacher and coach at Onaga and also at Ashland. He is a native of Mankato and has bachelor's and master's degrees from Kansas Weslyan University and another bachelor's from Fort Hays State University. He has a 10-year old daughter that attends school in Hays.
Mr. Callaway is excited to become a part of the St. John-Hudson community. He will start official duties on August 1st, but he will be spending some time over the next few months visiting classrooms and meeting with staff and students. We know that Travis will be a great fit on our leadership team and will help us develop and maintain excellence at SJH.
