I grew up in Newkirk, Oklahoma and graduated high school there in 1986. I attended college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and in 1991 graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. In 2001 I earned my Master’s Degree in Secondary Education, also from NWOSU and in 2014 I completed the Building Leadership program through Newman University.
My career as an educator start in 1991 at Ness City USD 303 where I taught social studies and coached football and track. In 1994 we moved to Lakin where I served multiple roles over 24 years including social studies teacher, coaching football, basketball and track, counselor/director of student services and Assistant Principal.
My wife, Becky, and I have been married since 1991. We have two adult children, a son Bryce and a daughter Brittany. In November of 2016 we experienced the birth of our grandson, Kendon. We are very excited to be in the community and a part of the Tiger Family.
Family is extremely important to me so any activities that involves family consumes a lot of my "spare" time. A few of those activities include going to school activities, camping, fishing, outdoor adventures and just about anything that involves time together. I also have some hobbies that I enjoy when I'm by myself including reading, studying local history and metal detecting.
